Welcome!

Welcome to The University of York Octopush club! On this site we aim to provide you with all the most up-to-date information about the club; who we are, what we are and when we're next doing something. Our club is run by students as part of York Sports, but anyone is welcome to join us for our sessions and socials! We are also closely tied with the York Octopush club which is a local junior club, so Octopush is now available to people of all ages in York. We are a mixed sports club of all ages and abilities, and are always willing teach new people how to snorkel and play octopush.

At the University of York Club we aim to spread the knowledge of octopush as much as we can, introducing more people to the sport while training and playing in a friendly welcoming environment. The club also has a competitive side with a University team that competes in friendly matches, the ONE (Octopush North East) league, ONE cup and also each year taking part in the University Student Nationals.

For anyone who is unsure or just wondering what Octopush is, then please take look at the About Us section to the left, as it gives a brief explanation into what octopush is and how our club was founded. For those of you that are interested in taking part, then please do come along to a session and give it a try - all equipment is provided for new players (you only require swimwear and a towel) and your first session is free. The time and venue of our next session can be found in the Club Sessions section. The best way to keep up to date is to join our mailing list - this will ensure that you are always on top of the most recent going ons in the club and will be informed of any up and coming events, or any last minute important changes.

We're a very active club, meeting up frequently for socials of all varieties and after each session we try to go to a pub for a social drink and relax, but on the more active side, we have fancy dress socials and bar crawls in town. For those of you who think these are not your scene, then we also organise meals out, and other events like bowling or laser quest, all of which are events we have arranged during previous years. If none of these take your fancy and you have any other suggestions or ideas then let us know what you want and our social secs will look into it.

If you can't find any information you are looking for on this site then please feel free to contact us and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
